    probably a good idea to wait for Tai´s infos - he´s the local expert there ;)
    just have in mind - these tents are overcrowded -and if you want to have the "full treat" you need to attend at least one of those "parties" in one of those tents.
    Sve some extra-money in advance and you can even be the maestro of one of these bavarian brass-bands for one or two polkas ;)

    Yeah River, I can imagine that in the heart of the festival it's extremely crowded. I've seen pictures of it at night, looks spectacular.

    Don't you think everyone should experience it once.....? :)

    think so, yes - although i´m always a little sad that many pple from abroad see germany only as a ongoing "oktoberfest"
    think about the image of "all americans wear cowboy-hats all day and night"... ;)

    I guess I've never heard that stereotype before. I have definately never thought that of Germany.

    I've wanted to visit Germany all my life. So much history and culture to see, wish I had a couple months to spend there.

    river allready said the truth,the oktoberfest is more than overcrowded.there are 20 or so main tents,and they are allways full.to your question,you dont need a ticket for anyone.
    the problem is,the party starts at 10.00 oclock in the morning,and at 2.00clock pm,every tent is so full that the security closes the tent,and no one else can get in.and the people who are in at that point dont leave the tent till it close at 11.00pm.
    if you go there before 2-3.00pm you mostly get a place to sit down without reservation.if you are in the tent,and they closed it,and you have to go out (maybe wc),you get a bon so that you can come back in.
    theres only one tent,the wine tent(very popular bfor the upper ten),it opens til1.00clock in the morning,they give bracelets to vip guests,so they can come inside whenever they want(no need to say that i can organize those bracelets).

    hello everyone ... haven't chatted in awhile hope everyone is rockin' it out.

    There is a really great oktoberfest around my place ... a large german population so it's actually quite big and as 'authentic' as one can get outside of germany. I've never been yet, but I think I may actually check it out this year.

    every brewery has a horse and cart and they ride through whole munich till the festplace and show off there traditionall clothes,dances,etc....
