    Yeah they are. They have caught a few of them over 500 lbs before in commercial fishing nets.

    I think the biggest one caught on sport fishing gear is high 400's.

    Sancho that is such a bad joke. :lol:

    In my experience with halibut fishing it is my observation that halibut after a certain size taste like mud. I prefer the ones under 50 pounds and the best tasting ones in my opinion are the 8-30 pounders. So i imagine unless their diet is different up in Alaska once they get that big they must taste like mud. :-?
