Different counties in the state have different laws. We've still got several dry counties here in Alabama believe it or not. There's only a few here that allow drinking on Sunday.

4.0 is the allowable alchohol content (4 point beer or 8% alcohol). Anything above that must be sold in a liquor store, which is closed on Sunday.

we do have dry counties around here too, and some counties have "dry times", so from 2AM to 8AM you can't purchase any beer.

You have to remember these laws were written years ago in very different times....either no one has taken the time or effort to change them or they're scared for their political career that if they try they'll never get elected again. Which is backwards yes, but that's just the way it is.

Trust me on this one, you wont find any non-policy maker around here that DOESNT think many of our laws are dumber than Gump.

There was news the other day that OK may loose beer all together from some major brands.

They have to brew special, just for OK because their normal stock beers are 5.0 (10%). So in order to sell beer in OK that have to produce a special line, just for us. With the economy the way it is, there are some breweries looking at cancelling their production of 4.0 beers and just shipping direct to liquor stores instead of chain supermarkets, walmarts and grocery stores.

but what you consider underage, and what we consider underage could be two different things.

When I went to Germany at age 14, I could purchase beer. Couldn't do it here until 21.
