  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

What would you buy for 450£?

A 8800GT. I know it's not the top, but it suits my needs.

Depends...I don't know anything about Apple but on some of the IBM servers I have you can fool ths OS into looking a multiple processors as one. I've done it on a few. Most of them are more memory/disc beefed up than processor though, because of the app it serves.

The CPU is still not 16GHz though

    No 8GHz CPU's are made either :p

i've seen a processor overclocked to run at 11ghz. with my own eyes so i cant see why he cant have something at 16 or even 8. you seem reeeeeaaaaaallllyy resistant to this.

It's pretty woefully inadequate unless you have an inheritently parallel application (e.g. a bunch of threads). For the common case of a single-threaded computationally expensive application, the "bonded" CPU still runs at 2Ghz. :-|
