No college got me the job I have, as it turns out, I'm one of the most qualified people in the company, but that was totall irrelevant to me getting the job.
Yes, college & education will help, but only to a small degree in the real world.
Look at the companies in your area, do any of them need or use the skills you have?
Go talk to the one(s) that do.
Find out what they want first.
Then go to college if that is the best way forwards, if the company is the right one it may not be, or they might want you to go to a particular college or do a particular course at that college that will give you the skills that they need.
Also look very hard at what a college may be offering, you may already know more than they do!

Thanks for your tip, dragon. But as you may not know, my mom really wants I find a college to study and more and more. It's like studies are now becoming very important these days. Anyway, I didn't move yet, I'll check when I'll be able. Lot of companies are located in Montreal so if I can ever get a tour in the town, it'll be helpful.

Many jobs are gotten through connections, too. If you know somebody that works at the company, it often helps.

She did at times.
1/ because I had singled out the company I now work for, & wouldn't look elsewhere, I knew what I wanted to be doing.
(I was self employed at that stage, & had a steady income)

2/ She didn't like me going away much.

The period of unemployment I went through was prior to us meeting.
I was working & had good income by then, but had no savings due to the debt I had racked up prior, & the length of time it took to get into something worthwhile.

I only had 9 months actually unemployed, but I had a long time working my way up to finding a job where I was able to use the skills I had again.
As I said, I had to learn to work, & that took some time, I did it the hard way, thats for sure.

@dragon and iron: ares calls me French Canadian because I am one-eighth French Canadian. He also says I live in Illinois, even though I live in Michigan.

Hey there Spidy, Greetings Ares,

I got laid off, made redundant from a company I started working with, & the ultimate reason was that I didn't really have the right attitude to the work or the company, & so when they wanted to cut back on staff, I was on the list.

I got into another company, & had the same thing.

I thought I was better than I really was, & I wasn't there with an attitude to learn & grow...................

From there I got a few "unlucky" breaks.
Really I think you make your own luck, & learning that came the hard way for me.
