    for target shooting i prefer a revolver because if you buy one with a long barrel it gives you a great sight picture. for home defense i prefer the bigger but still very controlable 96 instead of the 9mm 92. If you look there is a reason why almost all cops now shoot a 40cal. more stopping power, less deflection and not a whole lot more recoil. a 9mm is only good cause the ammo is cheap.

    because you want to do all the above i would recommend if you can only buy 1 handgun to get the 96 if your heart is set on a 9mm then the 92. but might i also suggest taurus pt92 which is an identical gun as the barretta but about 200 bucks cheaper.
