I didn't see a cricket result until just then, but we were well on top when the rain came.

I didn't even see the end of the footy.
It wasn't my team playing, we play today.

It's still pre-season so i don't really care if we win or lose, but it'll still be fun to watch.

 

Essendon beat the Bulldogs easily and Brissie went down to the Roos in a regional match. We escaped with no injuries, that's the important thing

We've pulled out another 6 stars for our game today (Ablett, Bartel, Ling, Ottens, Harley, Wojinski, Dog Johnson), so we're obviously not taking the NAB Cup too seriously.

On top of those outs, Chapman and Scarlett aren't playing in the pre-season, so that's 9 of our best 11 or so not playing today.

If St. Kilda doesn't win by 7-8 goals, they're rubbish.

 

Were playing Everton today... It's a must win game if were serious about a Champions League spot at the end of the season.

 

I think we did have a young team, 3 of our captains didn't play. Dzufer was suspended for drink driving but it was postponed due to lack of numbers.

You've still got a good team, even with all the outs. Reckon it'll be closer than what you say, although the Saints will have a point to provide this pre-season, they and the underachievening losers from over here should be 2 teams that enter the 8 this season.

 

We've got Fulham.

Should win, but it's West Ham, so we'll probably go down meekly.

 

I still think the multiple captaincy thing is ludicrous.

It hasn't worked at any of the other clubs who have tried it, and i think it devalues the captaincy a bit.

I dunno.

I mean, no one can cover the 11 stars we don't have playing (hell, there's 8 AA's from last year not playing).

We're without our three best tall defenders (Scarlett, Egan and Harley), our best forward (Dog Johnson), our best ruckman (Ottens), and three AA midfielders including the Brownlow Medalist Bartel, Ablett and Ling.

We do have good depth, but any side would be disappointed not to beat a Geelong team missing so many of their stars.

Defence will be a struggle against Gehrig and Kosi. We're going to have a rookie at FB, and a VFL player at CHB

 

How's that work ???

Can understand differant captains in Cricket (ie. Test & ODI) but football, even if under Aussie rules.

 

They have 3 or 4 captains, who take it in turns captaining the team.

A stupid concept, i believe.
