    I had that problem for a while in my early 30's.....20 years later it went the other way and now I have to take thyroid supplements daily.

    My sister takes thyroid meds, not sure which end of the spectrum, and not so sure she'll grow out of it.

    Super hyper-active thyroid is no fun.....could not sleep well, but tired all the time. Was eating between 10K and 15K calories a day just to maintain 160 pound weight.

    They call it Graves disease.....hyper is more prevalent in younger adults while hypo is more prevalent in older adults. It is an autoimmune disorder where the body attacks the thyroid and it can react by either going hyper or hypo. Mine has totally quit now.

    Well, generally, people that are hyper are thin and those that are hypo tend to be a bit pudgy. :dunno:
