WTF is the cross-site scripting crap that no script keeps blocking? Never seen that before.

 

Yeah, it kind of bugs me when I hear somebody say "I miss experiencing seasons". I would gladly trade having to sleep in a hoodie with my hood up, as I did last night, on cold nights for bland but generally comfortable weather year-round.

I think that is pretty much an accurate statement. If I don't hear from her in another week, I will send a letter to her address.

The only change since last Thursday night is no her cell phone is ringing again and not going directly to voice mail....however, her voice mail is still full and not accepting any new messages. :?

That sounds suspiciously like a stolen phone. Though if she was aware of it that particular phone would have been deactivated by now, assuming she got a replacement. Have you tried texting her? Or contacting a relative?

 

Just blocked everything except for phun.org and googleanalytics with noscript and that stupid message along with an ad that was popping up when i scrolled to to the bottom of the front page have disappeared.

 

Where is it happening?

XSS is a type of vulnerability where a script (typically JS) is injected into the page maliciously. Normally, there is what's called a "same original policy" so scripts from one page can't access things like cookies from another. XSS attacks circumvent this in a way that makes it seem like the malicious script is from same domain to get access to things it shouldn't.

NoScript attempts to detect such attacks and blocks them automatically. Sometimes it's a false alarm, but I would be pretty careful if you are seeing those messages.

hmm...dont know. Its gone since forbidding everything with noscript. It should be logged soemwhere but I dont know how to access the log of blocked xss.

 

Any suggested counter-measures?

She has had time to deactivate her old phone and secure another using the same number...I have done that before myself when I lost a phone at the 2004 Daytona Bike Week. She lives in NJ and was visiting her brother in Orange Park which is a small community southwest of Jacksonville. I do not know the name of her brother, though I have searched Orange Park using their last name. The only likely hit had the address and phone number blocked. I have also searched the local newspapers by her name if a severe auto accident was covered. I don't know what else to do at this point except just wait.....:? While I don't think it will work, I will try the text as I have nothing to lose.

 

ringing sounds promising ... not sure what a full mailbox indicates. Could be many things.
