They told temps are going to drop here as well next week, maybe snow as well

oh man, busy arse day!

only me and a couple others in today. have my staff rotating days off since I'm back.

spent 4 hours in a Loader and 2 hours in a Snowblower today. so much fun!

refueled a plane too. about 1200 litres. told the Pilot and Copilot when I was getting the meter ticket signed "if you want the points just write your visa number there"

they just laughed and Captain said "heh no fucking way the Company can pay" we just laughed.

Inuk, the drive was pretty icy. The snow and ice have formed hardpack icy spots all over the roads. :?

So, do you ever deal with the pre-flight problems that pop up? And, is this like a regular commercial airport with jets or are they small single-engine/prop type planes? (I'm not sure how remote you are up there).

Anyway, I was just wondering how common a dead battery is? It happened to me on a flight yesterday and we sat there for a while they "waited for a jump". I was thinking what the fuck, they can just "jump" a plane and clear it for flight? I thought for sure our flight was going to be canceled. But, at the point, I was so eager to get home I'd probably have agreed to fly with one wing.

I've encountered a lot of little problems like that, but never a dead battery. It just sounded like something they'd ground the plane for. Apparently not.

pilot probably forgot to pay the fuel man and they put a lock on the wheel! lol

seriously, it happens. but they would need a ground power unit (GPU) or a Huffer to start up the engine. maybe the auxillary power unit (APU) on the Aircraft was messed up.

seen all kinds of weird stuff in my 20 years in Airports.
