That's a fair point. But I just happen to love that picture and I wanted to accentuate it a bit more for added viewing pleasure.

 

Here is one that I did myself. I've done it a bit differently though because I'm new to this. Apologies in advance if it has already been done before. Anyway....

Black isn't necessarily the hardest to work with, but it depends. Not sure, but the higher the pics resolution, the harder it might be to bring out details. Still learning myself, and experimenting.

Just a few pointers - Higher res never hurts details, it only helps. If you think you are getting results with low res that you can't see with the same pics in a higher resolution, then most likely you're just seeing compression artifacts not details.

Color & good results typically rely on the correct amount of light. Lighter colors reflect more light, so dark clothing usually works out best with as much light as possible, while light colors often lose details with too hot of a flash or bright sunlight. How shiny the fabric is also comes into play, where lower lit subjects (like from a flash) can often reflect too much light if they are shiny, but overhead light could illuminate better.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that no single technique is correct for all situations, so try more brightness or less contrast if the opposite isn't doing much. Also, brighter colors will just get more intense when you crank up the contrast, so consider reducing the saturation to a much duller color before other tweaks.

Hey C-Through, thanks for the tips and facts. You always some how manage to help me and my amateur attempts in some way when you give advice. Also, in an old version of PS, I some how managed to find the win Infrared adjustment bar, it is made of win.

 

Sorry, I tried, I'm not the best, but that's all I could get with a prelim using Windows Photo Editor.

 

I can see the spot there.. dont know if its a spot on the shirt, or a nipple. Its covered by a thicker piece of fabric design (arrows), so who knows

 

Sorry - I'm not seeing anything conclusive. If you mean that slightly darker circular shape to the left of that embroidered part on her top, it looks a little anatomically out of place to be her areola to me.

 

If you ask me it's just a shadow being cast over by her hair.

You can nearly see her nip in couple so hopefully something there. Sorry Best res I could find but if somebody could check would be very happy as she's my fav celeb . Probably nothing in upskirt but miracles can happen. thanks

 

I kind of started a discussion a few pages back, and then never came back to it - which is kind of bad form. One day when I get some time... WOuldn't help if I learned more about the process, too.

In the above post, I meant with blacks. I've had some success with lower res photos of getting the black to "flesh" color via color and brightness/contrast manipulation, but it seems to be much harder if not impossible with the high res photos. Then again, I admit to being a bit of a newb and might not have the skill set to do it.

Nevertheless, I have had some good results with lower res photos and while I understand the possibilities of "artifacts" being present, I still generally can do more with lower res photos than higher res ones. Again, it might simply be because I don't really know the proper methods.
