If the mods are going to allow the thread to be cluttered up with obvious fakes, then we should have equal right to critique those obvious fakes..
Whats more disturbing to me is they allowed a member to threaten another with actual violence (Shooting them with a gun)

but back on subject, obviously there would be ZERO fights, if the fakes were not allowed..maybe a little food for thought

Who said you weren't allowed to rationally discuss content and techniques? The problem is there are too few of them and way too much bashing and flaming. Why does anyone have to have their work challenged, that isn't part of the ideals this thread was founded on.

Sorry but it isn't our job nor will it ever be to decide if a photo is a fake. Again why does someones work need to be critiqued? If someone doesn't like the x-ray why can't they just move on, why does the member need to be bashed and flamed? As for "allowing" a member to threaten someone, in case my previous post was unclear any future threats/flames made the member will be banned and the thread closed. Instead of focusing on one person I decided to address the whole problem. I thought I would give this thread and all those involved another chance, I'm sorry you disagree but I can't please everybody.

Some more food for thought, there would also be ZERO fights if people didn't insist on critiquing someones work.

Even more food for thought, maybe this thread would be more popular without all the negativity.

The subject matter matter in this thread is not meant to be completely a creative effort, it's supposed to be based on anatomical features that are actually present and can be enhanced from the original image - if they aren't present, then it's just a fabrication (a fake) and doesn't belong. Allowing images that appear to have no merit and leaving them unchallenged just makes many people think the whole process is made up and all X-rays are fakes, even when it's done right with good original subject matter. Also pointing out deficiencies in what is thought to be features can be beneficial if the person doesn't know what they may be doing wrong, and can help them with future images.

There will never be ZERO fights unless you prevent everyone from posting, that's why forums have moderators to try and keep the peace.

Actually it was most popular when it was in the celeb section, instead of getting moved here where less people see it for I would assume was some members being a little "too creative" with their work. I'd love to be more positive, but when I get ragged on for just trying to keep the thread honest and on subject, it's tough.

I have no problem with the fakes being posted in the correct section, just not mixed in with the x-rays. If you're gonna make it up, you might as well be proud of your work and call it what it is instead of passing it off as something it's not and being offended when someone challenges it.

The problem is you guys can't always leave the insults out of all your critiques so maybe its best you don't critique. It just starts of another fight that takes over this thread. Would you rather have an x-ray thread full of x-rays or arguments?

My tolerance for this thread right now is already low do you really want to take it there?

 

Some just can't stand against critiques and the ones who make critiques, I could just say something : "Just try yourself if you mind".

So I think it's the best to stop this thread if we can't make the job without getting critiques.

I've been a member of Phun since the days when the celeb forum got only a few new posts every week. (ignore my join date I forget my username/pass every so often and have to rejoin, I must have a few thousand posts under different names by now) My memory of the start of this thread and x-raying was that it was introduced here by evilcorporatewhore, (who used to get incandescent at the indiscriminate use of the burn tool), he insisted, just like cthrough, that the only tools that should be used were balance controls. Use of the burn tool actually breached the "no fakes" rule. He did get very heavy on the whole principle and got banned. He had his own blog but that hasn't been updated for a long time.
The fact is, that few pictures are really x-rayable but folks come here with fantasy wishes that lindsay kardashian hewitt hilton's clothes can be instantly ripped from their bodies by modern graphics programs. Folks, it ain't so. If you can't already clearly see through, forget it! Read the first posts in this thread.
