So what's the news with your car? How are you getting to work?

 

Pretty much shit outta luck right now. Luckily, hockey doesn't start back up until the end of September. There are a couple of events in August, though. I'm just going to have to see how much money I can get for the car (either by selling parts, or scrapping it). Hopefully I can get some money, because right now I've only got a couple thousand to work with. I don't think anyone in my family is going to offer to help out, so I'm basically between a rock and a hard place.

 

Thanks, that means a lot. I got really fortunate with my current car. I only paid $4k for it, and it was in great condition. It really sucks that I have to get rid of it.

 

That's so aggravating. I've had my fair share of car issues over the years so I feel your pain.

Talk to your banker. You might qualify for a small loan if necessary. You should at least explore the possibility as an option, you never know, you may get lucky.

 

Thanks. It doesn't help that I live around 20 minutes (on the freeway) away from the arena. I can't carpool because that person would have to drive away from the arena to get to me. It's also a bummer because I was basically guaranteed a promotion, but I can't do that if I have travel issues.

 

Talk about adding insult to injury. Geez, that sucks.

 

It's just kind of the way things have been going the last few years.

 

Reminds me of my 40s. Pretty much an unfortunate decade for me.
