  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

Ethical reasons. To do my part to decrease the demand for meat & the cruelty inflicted upon the animals raised for meat.

Yup, same here, and here it wouldn't even really be farm raised.

I did go through a period where I didn't eat meat at all because I hated the way the animals were treated, but in the end I gave in. However I have never eaten much meat anyway so I guess that make it better....sort off.

Every little bit helps I reckon. Not only are the animals treated inhumanely but the methane released by raising so many of those animals to meet the demand is causing global problems that we're not going to be able to fix. We are not on a sustainable course as a planet, as we all know.

True. We are the worst thing that's happened to the planet so far. But she's a tough old broad hopefully she'll shake us off like fleas & go on to be healthy & happy someday.

One of the big problems we have is the harvesting of Nitrogen from the atmosphere in order to create artificial fertilizers which can sustain population numbers far beyond what the natural environment is intended to sustain.

Scientists estimate that without such artificial means, using renewable methods that do not also hurt the environment or the global ecosystem, we should try to maintain a human population of no more than one and one-half billion, if we are to survive long-term.

We're almost six billion too high, folks. Time to legislate and enforce population reductions on a worldwide basis. :|

Otherwise, we are merely a short-sighted, immediate-needs species that deserves to die.

I made the same point in the other thread last month where we were discussing this. Controlling the population is the only way we can survive.
