Well then, from an existential viewpoint, there is no point to anything. Nothing you do in life matters. You could find the cure for every disease, but in the end it doesn't mean crap. Even if there is other life out there in the universe, all life will eventually cease to exist. Once that time comes, there will be no record of our existence. It's quite a sobering thought.

 

I dont even have to go that far. Once you die nothing matters.

 

I was just reading an article about Steve Wozniak's feelings about the new iPad Air. Here's a quote:

And since dying is an eventual part of and end to living, life itself becomes a pointless period of time earmarked in the absolute slightest of ways.

I think the point of Nature is to simply be. Existence doesn't have to come with a preconceived purpose, we make of it what we will. You're here, so why not make the best of it? It's not a requirement however.

 

I'm an NL fan.

That's very true. I grew up watching and going to games of both teams so I am an exception.

 

I have a Frank Thomas autographed plaque. He was the big slugger back when I watched baseball. Sammy Sosa was the slugger for the Cubs, although he also played for the Sox. I have his rookie card.

 

Coyotes are back in it! 3-4 with 18 minutes left in the 3rd.

My mom is a big Sox fan. My interest in baseball is, and has always been, just a general love of the game. I've never been fanatical about either team, but I have lots of good memories of each. I've been to games in half a dozen major league parks. Regrettably we didn't make it to a Dbacks game this year. :?

 

I always wondered why it took Arizona so long to get their own team. I loved going to spring training games as a kid. Baseball (MLB) had a accessible factor to it. I could always just take a trip to a public park and watch the teams training. There was only a fence separating you from the players, and they were always friendly and enjoyed chatting.
