Don't get them here either, but I know you do in the US...just probably not the usual stores.

 

I don't have a player anymore either. I used to have a 8-track when I was a kid

 

I remember my great uncle had a record player...don't think I ever played it though.

 

I had one with dual with a dual cassette deck, kept it for years. Twas the day before cds. I wish I would've kept all my records now that I look back. I don't even remember what I did with all of them.

 

I had a few cassettes when I was a kid...mostly Christmas stuff...after that CDs came in pretty quickly.

CD's got popular in the mid 80's I think, can't remember. They were to expensive for me when they first came out. Most of the things I had were on cassette until the last couple of years of high school.

 

If they came out in the 80s there ten it probably came out in the 90s here.

So that adds up, lol.

Afternoon Scribe

 

Between all the members of my family we had amassed nearly a thousand LPs and a couple hundred 45s by the time I was 18. Most wound up at a used record store after my folks sold the house and hit the road for retirement. Quite an ecclectic mix of music from the early 50's onward. I wish I had that collection.

I didn't have near that many, there wasn't that many artists I liked back then. No telling how many my father-in-law has, it's a built in shelf about 8 x 8 I'd guess full.

 

Noon here, trying to figure out what I want to eat for lunch.

Of the total maybe 100 were mine. The rest were my folks' and what my brother and sisters left behind as they moved out and never came back to claim. Now I think of it there was stuff never to be found again. Incredible.
