  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

My grandfather belonged to one of the last batches of scraped together farmers and elderly men sent as soldiers to Russia. Shortly after they arrived, it was clear that they were going to lose. When he woke up one morning, all the commanders had deserted. He and the other soldiers made their way to the Baltic Sea shore where he was able to enter one of the last ships that brought them out to Denmark. He had to walk from Denmark to his village on foot. When he came home, the war was over.

And no, I don't think he ever forgave her. My father and his siblings still held contact to her though, and my English cousins used to come over for visits. I've never seen or spoken to my aunt, though.

I don't really know. I'd guess 100 - 200 kilometers. Kiel is not far from Denmark, depends on how far north the ship landed.

Yes, they live in England, near Bath, I believe. At least they used to live there. I know my uncle died and my cousins moved away from there a while ago.
