In the OP it says 9pm GMT.

I live in the GMT timezome and the poll was posted at 4am. It should be changed to GMT+6, or the equivalent to your timezone.

 

That's where I got confused too Sid, but then I read down further and it says gmt -6 in the deadline section, eh, no biggie. I'm just pleased we had a decent # of entries this time.

 

any doubts about timezones you could just check the time of when the last weeks poll was posted.

 

Ah, I see that too now. I'll just get it into my head that it's 4am my time.

 

Last weeks thread was posted at 7am - 3 hours after the deadline.
It's fine now though, further down the rules you see the correct time zone.

 

GMT +1 OR UTC +1 and for summer-time UTC +2

 

Frankly timezones confuse the fuck out of me, I try and post it at 9PM on Thursdays and I live it Alberta, Canada. I don't know what timezone that puts me in, I thought it was Mountain Time? But if I'm out that night then it'll get posted when I get back, like last week, I was at the pub until pretty late, so I got it together when I got back.

Sorry if this is annoying for some of you, but it's just not practical for me to have a set-in-stone time to post it. I try my best.

 

It's not annoying, just confusing. It said 9pm GMT at the top with the theme, but further down it said GMT-6.

Ireland/U.K/Portugal are GMT zero hour. I think it's about 2:30pm where you are now, so you're GMT -7. I believe your time zone is MDT.

 

I feel ya, buddy. Timezomes confuse me all the time. I always struggle converting times into the time her in GER.

For what its worth, i don't feel annoyed or confused about when you get the poll up. I just appreciate it that you take the time and moderate the SOTW. :2cent:
