how to get people to make signatures every week?

spend hours every week to make a cool signature and then u get nothing ?

hey, it's "just for fun" !!!

but sometimes "just for fun" is not enough to be motivated for a log period of time

so her is an suggestion: a point system

u get 1 point for every week u have send a signature
5 points for 1 place
3 point for 2 place
2 points for 3 place

and u can also choose the theme

and here is an example how a ranking could look after 1 year:

1. Cold As Ice 85 points
2. Merlin 75 points
3. AFX 60 points
4. The One 55 points
5. Cy 45 points
6. GUI 40 points
.
.
.
20. helium 15 points

(yeah helium was a lazy ass this year)

after 1 year u can say: well i'm not a Picasso but i am The Marathon Man

 

Access to the cutting room floor from the editting room of SpringBreakers sounds better to me, but then I'm pervy about these things

we all would like access to the uncut footage from about every movie when there were some nudity involved

 

We had a sort of league before if anyone remembers, it was just wins and not points. I'm fine with a scoring system for fun, might be a laugh. Although last time I think I had one, ever

 

Well, as I said I'm up for changing the competition as long as it remains in some form. I quite like Helium's idea although I'm not entirely sure about getting points just for entering, simply because it can be difficult to compete every week because of work commitments and just not having time to enter on occasion.

The league system we had before was basically a dick swinging contest for some ultra competitive members who've since left, so I think with the more modest sig makers around now it could work better.

Is it possible to do a poll where voters can choose a top three in order of first to third? That would make it a little more accurate when it comes to deciding the places. And then maybe have five points for first, three for second and one for third.

 

We could also change it so last place chooses the theme, giving them an opportunity to pick one that could work in their favour for the next round. I'm just throwing out ideas.

 

never seen a multi-choice forum poll, but it could easily be done if people posted a reply.

I like the" last place gets first draft pick" idea. That might give a bit of variety.

 

What about tag badges instead of points. If you win you get a badge you can put on or under your sig. Badges for 1,3,5, 10 wins and so on, Badges for more than one win in a row, badges for winning by a landslide and things like that?

That could work although I'm not sure I'd wear a badge myself if I won one. I don't even like it when people credit me underneath sigs I've made for them.

 

So, who won?

 

I think I did surprisingly. Seemed to get a few clinching votes in the last couple of days. Annoyingly I think one was from a poster with no actual posts so it'll be removed. Perhaps we should put a polite message up above the sigs saying only votes from members who have posted will be eligible.

I'm away next week so probably can't enter but are we gonna try and change it up a bit from now on?

I have been thinking about handing out some sort of badges or stars or someting to the winners, but it's not easy to do, as if it at all can be done it's only possible for a admin to make it, and after a while it's gonna add up to a whole lot of stars.. so that's why I invented the ranking system.. and that is a pain in the ass to keep track of too.

and it's not possible to make a poll where one could choose 1-2-3 place, it's either vote for 1, or able to vote for all. and, voting by posting sadly isn't gonna work either I think.

I like the idea about last place choose theme though

I'll likely be back entering the week after next. Maybe we should just go with last place choosing the theme for now until there are some more concrete changes we can all agree on. I understand about the badges One. You do a great job running it as it is and I don't think any of us would want to make more complicated for you. I'll have a think about some other ideas and post any I come up with because I'll still be logging into phun, just not from my Photoshop computer for a week or so.
