Nice, I've been working on something similar, kinda working but I've had to learn how to do a spread sheet so I enter someone's won and the points go up and their ranking goes up. Kinda complicated. Anyone any good with spreadsheets?

 

I'm working on it.

 

Only thing I miss about ms office or really anything to do with m$ is excel. Spreadsheets are a lot of fun. Once you learn how formulas work you can do amazing things. openoffice calc and gnumeric just dont replace excel well enough.

Ok, here's what I came up with:

It's pretty easy to use:

1) ONLY modify the Wins/Losses/Draws columns.
2) The Battles and Points columns will automatically be updated when a value has been changed.
3) To update the ranks, I made a macro (shortcut is Ctrl+U); the macro will automatically save the document so be SURE to have the correct values before hitting the keys or else you won't be able to undo.

Since macros can be dangerous, they are disabled by default; Excel will ask you if you want to enable them when opening the document.

No worries, the macro is harmless.

As of now, I made 20 rows for 20 participants. If we ever have more in the future, we'll need to modify the macro so it includes the new added rows to its update range.

Oh and finally, we will need to flesh out the rank system because what if two members have the same points? i.e. The top members both have 20 points, so who should be #1 and #2? Maybe we can do like hockey (NHL) and sort it out by comparing their number of wins.
