Having read some of the earlier posts I don't think I am to far away from what other phunners think so here goes.
We currently have nearly 30 categories, which I personally think is to many and some of them are a bit repetitive. So while a few should be added several should also be removed.

I would lose these straight away
Gayest Member Not sure what the point of this is really?
Best Post Content & Spammer of the Year I would lose these and replace them with a single Best Contributor for General Forum. One man's spam is another man's content
Worst nOOb Offences This is a negative category, where no one wins and noobs lose
Best Member Name This is fun, but not needed
Best Contributor for Creative Forum & Most Talented Phunner I would combine these into a single Most Creative Phunner category
Most Popular Phun Model I don't see the point of this and a sexiest category
Best Sig We already have a SOTW

And then one or more of these
Member of the Year or Most Popular or Most Respected They feel a bit samey to me

Then finally I would add a few new ones
Best Contributor for General Forum
Best Contributor for Video Forums
Most Creative Phunner

So the final thing could look something like this

Gayest Member (This was originally a piss taking piece of fun as alot of members used to try and out gay each other but it is obsolete now)
Best Contributor for Creative Forum & Most Talented Phunner (Talented doesn't just mean contributing to creative. That is really only signature art and a few other visual mediums but some phunners are writers, musicians and other things.

Member of the Year/Most Popular Most/Respected.They feel a bit samey to me. (Agreed on part but Inuk is usually way more popular than others as he interacts alot but River doesn't. Although there are few phunners out there who don't have huge resepct for Riv, so that example itself has to separate them. Member of the year is an overall award for the member who has done the most, or been the best general member of the year.

Then finally I would add a few new ones
Best Contributor for General Forum
Best Contributor for Video Forums
Most Creative Phunner (These are already in)

So the final thing could look something like this
Best Member Name
Most Missing Phunner
Most Mysterious
Most Perverted Phunner (All of these will most likely not be included again)

 

Then I would keep Most Popular Most and Most Respected and tot up the overall total's of votes given and pick a Member of the Year that way.
So a phunner may pick up 3 votes in Most Respected, then get 2 in funniest and 4 in Most Improved and they could win it that way, possibly without winning a single cateogry, but by being the best overall.
That way we could end up with a surprising Member of the Year and we might not have a clue until the results were released.

I meant that they could be combined together into 1.

I wouldn't have a problem losing these, the only 1 I'd miss would be the Most Mysterious and that is similar enough to Random so that I wouldn't be that bothered.

So Phun model isn't the same as sexiest, there were guys voting for male-members for sexiest. If something would have to go then let it be "sexiest member" and let Phun model stay to respect the models we got here.

 

Also would leave "Member of the year" as it is, if you're only active in a couple parts you never could become Member of the year by adding all votes up. But when a member has a special milestone or other great post he would still have a shot at Member of the year

 

As for "Sig of the year" it would be fair if sig-makers would send in there best sig and let people vote for those sigs. Some sig-makers don't enter SOTW but still could have the best sig of that year.

 

Most Popular Phun Model has some crossover with Best Contributor for Models Forums and Sexiest Member, while the other two don't crossover at all.

If it stays it should at least be renamed Favourite Phun Model, because I'm voting for my favourite not guessing who i think is the most popular model.

Some phunners have complained that we have to many categories and it's a chore to complete. How many people even finished voting last year?

Reduction is the obvious answer and where I see repetition I see the option to trim it down without losing the essence of what it's all about.
We should be looking for ways to make it more accessible for everybody while keeping what works and removing what doesn't.
Otherwise we may as well just do this.
