I would go the opposite and make caps count as candids. Here's why:

The abundance of candids didn't really start until 10 or so years ago (about the time Phun started not coincidently). The availability of high quality digital cameras created the flood of candids making their way online - it was just too much work to do with film cameras. This 10 year time frame keeps a lot of potential girls on the sidelines. Take someone like Marissa Tomei or Pamela Anderson who were in their prime in the 1990s. Yeah you can find candids of Tomei now - and argue hey, she looks fantastic for 50 - but against an Emma Roberts candid? And Pam was amazing in the early 90s before the implants and Barb Wire and life with Tommy Lee. Candids of her from the last 10 years though are likely to induce head shaking and yelling what the hell happened? at the screen. Being able to pull a screencap off My Cousin Vinny or Baywatch to match against photoshoots from the day makes celebs like them viable candidates.

I'd also change the draft format from random every round to either 1) random draw for the first round that remains for all rounds or 2) a fantasy sports format where the order of the first round is reversed for the second round and then reversed every round after.

 

We will be doing it this way. I was going to do it last time but I just wanted to get it going quickly.

If we set aside talkshows and to some extent public appearance videos, acting and posing are pretty much the same thing. They're predetermined by an external influence. Photographers and directors are each striving for a particular look that represents their vision of how a scene should appear. It's not entirely left up to fate like snapping a pic of Kaley Cuoco leaving a yoga class. The term candid means without pretense, or in the case of photography; taken informally, especially without the subject's knowledge. With the exception of spycam footage, that can't be said of screencaps. If you know you're on camera, then you're aware of your image, and will likely make the best of it.

Not a bad idea, but it would eliminate the random draw, which is the heart of the draft. It's more interesting if you don't know what you're getting into ahead of time.

 

And what if we have more than 8 teams next time? What happens to the newcomers?

I think every draft rotation should be random. If you don't want to input the names into the program, then I'll do it. I told you before, you don't have to do everything.

 

If we were to start this sometime soon after the New Year how many think they'd be into joining?

Just so we can get the game rolling again without further debate spider and I have come up with an outline for the next game. See the Series 2 draft thread for what you can expect to happen this time around.

 

We're going to start our 3rd series as soon as we have at least 6 teams signed up. Hopefully we'll get rolling again before the end of the month. Ideas and observations would be appreciated.
