  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

Yeah, probably not gonna happen anytime soon. Once again Adobe has shot down our yearly "port PS to Linux" petition. And although great strides have been made in getting PS to work under WINE, it's not really viable. Oh well, there's always next year, and gimp is getting better by leaps and bounds.

I know ... was just dreaming away a bit.
WINE looked promising when I followed the discussions on a forum some year ago but nothing really came out in the end.

What really bothers me is the fact that all the algoritms Adobe uses are developped in universities (probably sponsored by Adobe) so some students could use them to bring GIMP up to par with PS.

As you rightly said, GIMP is indeed getting better and better and I'm still confident some time it will be on par with PS.
Remember when Linux started Bill Gates and Steve Jobs laughed at it ... now they're less happy 'cause the opensource community is rapidly growing. :D
