Now before the assclowns among us feel the need to scream "Fake!" or "I call photoshop!" rest assured I had this photo checked by the Fake Detectives, and apparently it's from some Italian bridal fashion magazine from way back, and is 100% real. I found it originally in Celebrity Sleuth magazine (probably ten years ago now) but since they do sometimes include shopped pics, I wanted to make sure.

 

Yes, and in my opinion they shouldn't be. It's a strange world when someone becomes famous, and subsequently rich and admired, simply for being on some ridiculous TV show, or for being related to (or friends with) someone who's famous, or some other stupid reason. Some of them aren't even attractive! Sorry for going on but I remember when celebrities used to be people who were talented and had earned their fame and fortune accordingly, not some f*cking idiot who keeps going to parties and desperately trying to remain in the limelight. There should be a forum for actual deserving celebrities and another for idiotic nobodies who some people might like to look at pictures of...

 

I think that you're nitpicking a bit, RKS. I mean, yes, reality TV stars and other D-listers are total jokes, and the fact that they get so much press is absurd, but fame has always been disproportionate to a person's actual contribution to society. Our society is a cult of celebrity, and has been for as long as we've had mass media entertainment.

And what do you mean you remember a time when famous people earned their fame and fortune? What did Marilyn Monroe ever do besides show her tits and fuck a president? Oh, sure, she stared in some films...and was horrible in those roles. And we've always socialites in this country who were famous for their money and their looks and literally nothing else. That trend didn't start with Paris Hilton, okay?

But I get where you're coming from, I really do. It's just that I think we should all be clear that celebrity of any form is ridiculous, because it's always more than it should be. Nobody should give a shit what Angelina Jolie does with her kids, and yet we do, which is absurd considering her paltry contributions to cinema. Outside of Girl, Interrupted, what the fuck has she exactly had to offer? That's my point.

That article just says what I said. A person isn't any less of a celebrity simply because their fame was the result of a fluke or a stunt or something that requires little to no artistic talent.

 

I blame the increased and massive amount of stupid reality shows on now.
