NEW "CELEBRITY EXTRA" FORUM

A) We're not doing anything about where VS models, Loaded, Nuts, Page 3 or the like are supposed to be posted. Consider all that status quo.

B) Discussing movies is not necessarily celeb specific, though if someone were to post about movies in the new Celeb Extra forum it wouldn't be frowned upon.

C) Discussion and comments are not being discouraged in the CF (soon to become Celebrity Photos)

D) More or less, yes.

The new forum will premiere tomorrow (Sunday) some time after 6pm GMT.

 

Movie and tv discussion threads will stay in the General Forum as will all the movie games.

Comments will continue as they were in this forum.


The General Forum has been crowded with celebrity threads......which quite frankly don't fit in there....that was the primary reason for coming up with this new forum.

 

I like the idea. My one addendum would be to move the Page 3/Loaded/Nuts/etc. girls to the Models section. Yes, "model" is an ambiguous term, as is "celebrity," but it's easy to agree upon criteria. Miranda Kerr, for example. While primarily a model, she'd qualify as a supermodel, as she's world-famous and constantly on the tube. The girls on Page 3 simply don't have that same level of exposure (pun only slightly intended) and are literally only "famous" for doing what they do in that magazine.

Superiorpics did a similar thing with Olivia Munn. She was for most of her career listed in the "Miscellaneous" section, even after her acting career began. But, let's face it, she was mostly a model and TV host. Now that she's primarily an actress, she's been officially moved to the "Actresses" section. Miley Cyrus does the odd film, and began her career on a TV show, but all of that is really just a vehicle for her music career, so she's listed in the "Singers/Musicians" category. Sure, there are some grey areas, but mostly it makes sense. The same can't be said of having the slew of British mag slags in the "Celebrity" section here. But, it's a minor nitpick for a longtime lurker. Just thought I'd offer my two pence.

 

Don't see why they need to go in Models, if they need to be in Models then all models should go in there.

 

For the reasons I said. Some models are actual celebrities--ie Supermodels--while others aren't--ie the girls who do Loaded, Nuts, etc.. There's obviously a difference between Holly Peers and Miranda Kerr.

 

Perhaps, but they are both equally as popular at phun (Holly Peers more so for me), which is its own little society, and just as reknown as many of the actresses posted in the Celeb Forum. Possibly for the very reason they're posted in here at all.

Be that as it may, the website owner isn't interested in creating a gazillion sub-forums to accommodate every possible category of individuals in the known universe as some forums do.

 

That's a very good point. I may not be a fan of those ladies, but there certainly are plenty of Phunners who are. Anyways, it's no sweat off my back. Just a suggestion.

Fair enough. And just to be clear, I'm not at all advocating a ton more forums. I think the addition of the Extras subforum is a great idea, and even if I had total control, the only other change I'd make is who goes into the Models forum, nothing more. ANyway, thanks for listening!

That pretty much is actually some sort of "gripe" I have with the amount of tits and ass that get posted. Sounds weird I know but that's what it comes down now. Every tits and ass shouldn't get posted in a forum which was made to feature celebrites (traditionally someone out of the US).

And then the new age of twitter celebs. I mean I'm a straight guy and some of them looks nice, but then there's even the new sub-category of underage twitter users who have some fame because they pose in suggestive ways and post pics to instagram... and I'll stop right there. They probably just lurk on here like the next best guy and get something out of the attention, but defintiely get some sort of fame in the view of horny-guys.

So now only spam threads are allowed in the General section....cool!

Yes. The non-adult/erotic models will remain in the Celeb Photos forum for the time being. The twitter/instagram, social media stuff goes to CX now.

 

Actually the threads we moved would all fall under the category of "spam".

 

So let me get this right:

If I want to see pictures of Jennifer Love Hewitt, I need to check the Celebrity forums for pap pics and official photo shoots, but then also check the new CX forums for twitter pics, instagram, etc?

Seems silly. Seems like the old way was just fine. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Maybe now the celeb gif thread thats stuck in the dungeon of the CB forum can be moved to the CX forum where more people will see them

I think it's a terrible idea to split the forum into two. Now, people have to search through two separate forums for new pictures. It creates more work for members and with all the random discussion threads in the Extras Forum, it'll make it harder to find those new pictures and easier for them to get lost, too.

I seriously HATE that Twitter/Instagram pictures have been moved there. That's most of my posts. I mean, Twitter/Instagram are "CELEBRITY PHOTOS," so why move them to a forum that's supposed to be for random discussion and celebrity gossip?

Look, I'm all for the Extra Forum being about random discussion and celebrity gossip, but I really think that pictures - whether they're candids, photoshoots, Twitter/Instagram, whatever - should all stay in the Celebrity Photos section. It just makes everything much easier and it makes more sense. Especially since Twitter/Instagram pictures also serve as companion adds in candid threads, as well.

And I understand some people don't like Twitter/Instagram pictures, but there are lot of other people who do like them. And I do put in my thread titles that they're Twitter/Instagram pictures, so people know beforehand.

I really think Twitter/Instagram pictures should be moved back to the Celebrity Photos forum on a permanent basis. I really hope you guys take this into consideration. Because, to be honest, if Twitter/Instagram pictures remain in the Extra Forum, I can definitely see myself posting much less often on Phun, sadly. And based on the lack of thanks this thread has received, I think it's pretty clear most members aren't too thrilled with the new changes either.
