NEW "CELEBRITY EXTRA" FORUM

Some of us think so, yes. What are your thoughts? We're interested in gathering as much intelligence as we can. (good set up line for a joke, no doubt)

That is true, no doubt about it. But from time to time threads are resurrected.

Threads in the CX forum may actually generate more interest because they don't fall by the wayside. Most of the activity in the Creative Backyard is focused on a half dozen threads, but yet they have been piling up over time and that forum doesn't see anywhere near the activity of the Celeb Forum. I sense, though I can't say with absolute certainty, that the CX forum will eventually become pretty popular. There are a lot of members who chat or comment in the Celeb Forum who don't bother with the GF because it's not celeb specific. I think CX will draw some of them in, especially if they can post related content that doesn't require beating everyone else to the punch posting images. Of course, like anything else, time will tell if I'm on target or not.

 

So will I be able to create a Molly Quinn megathread in the new section?

 

I think if you are going to open a new celeb forum it should be for twitter and insta account and pics

I see some benefit in listing these accounts and photos as an outlet for those posters inclined to post the lo res vanity photos taken from the accounts

I doubt many people are going to comment on this proposed section, seems like a lot of work for naught

 

We won't be subscribing to any such outlet. We will let the members decide what is relevant/interesting and let them post it on their own.

I agree with you, but I've made that same argument with staff before and lost. Frankly, they should be posted in the Model Forum, and they can be if one so desires, but for now it's okay to post them in the Celeb Forum too. That may or may not change. For now it's not on the radar.

In all likelihood instagram and twitter posts will be relegated to the new CX forum

Honest question, why are y'all so anti collections? I've always been curious. I've had them on other forums for years and never had a issue. But they work best with minimal comments, imo the less talking in picture threads the better. I'd love a collection thread that only had picture posts and no comments at all! But I'm not a chatter..haha

Anyway thanks for running a great forum, my questions aren't meant to offend anyone.

 

I don't know who or why the no collections rule came about, it's been around since before my time. I goes hand-in-hand with megathreads dedicated to a particular celeb.

Any questions, comments or insights you have to offer are appreciated.

 

All the more reason to go beyond page 1 and see if some interesting thread has been overlooked during
last few days and then resurrect it....I do it often..

 

If you want the celeb forum as a pics forum, maybe go all out and just use the smilie range and thanks buttons only. (or add a few other buttons)

Remove text responses in that forum. Crazy idea, but would divert conversation to the new thread, and just have only pics with low noise responses in the thread you want for pics.

 

There's no reason for that Smoop. Comments and discussion in the Celeb Forum threads is not at issue. Celeb Extra is for those topics of discussion that have nothing to do with paparazzi pics. If you want to open a discussion about who's going to direct the next Star Wars saga, and the news coming out of Hollywood about it, do it in CX. Or Guess the Celebrity Ass? CX. Who's fucking who in the entertainment biz? CX. Someone famous got in an accident? Or passed away? Or had a baby? CX. Your favorite band just released a new video on youtube? CX...

 

Pity about the page-3 and glamour models staying in the Celebrity pics thread. I guess I will scroll through to the "actual celebs" in the list as usual and as many others do.

Unless I have seen them on TV or Cinema, I don't even look.

and hopefully it will encourage noobs to post more "inane" questions about celebs
free from the ragging they get by the GF elite

What is celebrity but fame? In this day and age celebrity no longer = movie star. It means whoever is generating press, and some of those Page 3 types generate plenty. I mean, what's the difference between Kelly Brook and Rosie Jones? Kelly memorized some lines and repeated them on camera? That doesn't make her an actress, it just means someone thought her tits would look good in an underwater sequence in 70mm with Dolby surround sound. And they were right.

Anyway, the fact of the matter is that the Page 3, Nuts and lingerie posts don't qualify for CX. They're better qualified for the Model Forum, imo, but as long as they merit acceptance in the CF, that's where they'll remain.

When I come to this thread in general its different than when I come to this thread in celeb forum.
