    Word is that the republican establishment is willing to hand the the presidency to Clinton and try again in 4 years. They're really gearing up for a brokered convention to steal the nom from Trump. For those of you not in America, there is a a sense of revolution in the air. It's electric, almost tangible. The world is in for quite a show because you can't conquer the world without taking America down first, and we are fully aware that that is the gameplan.
    The Iraq war was a lie that killed hundreds of thousands of women and children, just to keep Iraq from abandoning the Petro-dollar. Lookup the Madeline Albright quote saying the death toll was worth it. We've been at constant war since.
    Iran relations are better? Are you fucking kidding? Last I checked they were still chanting death to America in the streets, recieved billions of dollars, were still on track for building a nuke, and is still the world's leadingfinancier of terror.
    After so many years of being unemployed, you are no longer considered a part of the American work force. A lot of people are forced to work 2 part-time jobs because ObamaCare requires full-time employees be provided health care. It's very easy to fudge the numbers when people aren't paying attention and just believe what the news tells you.
    Newsflash, we are arming Isis to take out Assad.We did it in Libya. Even a simpleton could research all the evidence on that. The bottom line is that the elite have this world headed to hell in a handbasket unless we speak up and demand change.

    Trump also promised he wouldn't run as an independent, and there's been a lot of talk of a brokered GOP convention, so it'll be interesting to see what they do.

    If there is a brokered convention and the GOP establishment takes the nomination way from Trump, despite him having the public vote, then people will riot.

    I'm a very proud American, and I can't blame Miley. If that monster is elected, I'll probably leave too. Not because I don't love my country, or because I'm "whiny," or anything of the sort; instead, it's because I'm Jewish, and the last time we saw someone like this rising to power, most of my family died because they didn't get the fuck out of Europe. This cannot be compared to "politics as usual," and Trump cannot be considered a viable leader just because he's different. People voting for him are either bigots or angry lemmings who are so willing to ignore the consequences of simply marching in line that they are willing to see the country implode just because they don't like small changes. *That* is the action of someone who loves neither his country nor his fellow citizens, but instead is so "whiny" that they are willing to take everyone down with them because they can't be adults and adjust.

    So, while I am certainly no fan of Miley or her antics, she's right. That abomination cannot be president if the country is to survive. He's a fascist (without exaggeration), and he is the antithesis of every value the United States has ever aspired to.

    I mean it's not as if the government actually does anything without corporate say so anyhow, so cant we cut out the middlemen? maybe save ourselves a couple bucks we can use to backstab the entertainment industry?

    You obviously don't understand how American Government works. The constitution doesn't allow for dictators no matter how much Obama or Trump want to be one. The way the republicans are fighting Trump during the primary, its pretty darn obvious that his own party will try blocking everything he sets out to do once he gets elected. That means Trump will either have to compromise or get fought tooth and nail on everything. Which would be a good thing from your perspective. Republicans don't even fight this hard against Obama and the democrats. Executive orders do not allow for genocide as you may be imagining. In addition, Trump is a far cry from Hitler. The people are not blindly following Trump, Trump is saying what most Americans have been saying for years and that's why they vote for him. I have a feeling you've never actually listened to a Trump speech or you can tell he is for Americans keeping their guns. Hitler banned guns so that the people could not fight back. Even if Trump wanted to, which he doesn't, he'd have a hard time trying to ban guns in this country. The revolution would start ASAP! So your point about people being bigots or lemmings is totally false and I have a feeling you are just listening to MSNBC or some drivel like that and you don't actually understand any of Trumps policies. Perhaps you should get a little more educated before you move out of the country for fear of another Holocaust.

    I hesitate to identify my profession, but I daresay I know a great deal more about the constitution and how the government works than the vast majority of people. And despite your assumptions, I have listened to Trump's speeches and do not watch MSNBC or any source that biased (in either direction). Trump is, however, demonstrably emulating Hitler, in ways both obvious (e.g. demanding people at his rallies raise their hands and swear allegiance to him) and subtle (e.g. his appeals to people authoritarian tendencies). I do not invoke Godwin's law lightly; indeed, he is the first person in American politics I have ever compared to Hitler, and that is because the comparison is apt. More importantly, your argument that he will be constrained by the constitution has a fundamental fallacy; you're assuming he will give a shit about following the constitution. Considering he has already been a vocal proponent of getting rid of the 14th Amendment and fundamentally ignoring major portions of the first, not to mention his stated opposition to a chief duty within Article II, I sincerely doubt that this is a viable premise. He has already pledged to defy the Geneva Convention and various other laws and treaties. Once he has the launch codes and command of the military, not to mention the control he already unofficially has over vigilantes that have committed hate crimes in his name (of which there have been several, including ones explicitly inspired by him), I doubt he will feel especially constrained by trifles such as "law."

    As for Lazard's response, Trump wants us to scapegoat various ethnicities, religions, and other groups in an attempt to revert to a fictional past America that was great (even if it was only great for white christian men). He has suggested (or at the very least expressed openness to the suggestion) that we should round up Muslims into camps (including American citizens), and round up and deport various groups based on religion and ethnicity. That sounds remarkably Hitler-ish to me. (Oh, and by his own admission he used to keep a book of Hitler's speeches on his bedside table. This is not accidental on his part.)

    This isn't even a partisan thing. I certainly have my biases, but there are plenty of conservatives who are essentially the loyal opposition (or, when in power, a relatively reasonable ruling party, much as I may often disagree vehemently with their policies). There is space for disagreement over policy and priorities. Trump is something different. He is not ideological. He is bigoted, authoritarian, and dangerous on every possible level, in addition to being egregiously unqualified for any office, let alone the presidency. He is a monster who poses an existential threat to the United States (economically and socially in addition to physically), to any semblance of freedom therein, and to all the world's people, American and otherwise. Anybody who gives a damn about the US should not vote for him, period.

    That said, I'm done discussing politics on a celebrity thread. (Plus, I don't feel like pissing off the mods - sorry guys - so I'll call it quits on this topic.

    We weren't terribly civil in colonial times either. Adams called Jefferson "a mean-spirited, low-lived fellow, the son of a half-breed Indian squaw, sired by a Virginia mulatto father. Jefferson called Adams, "a hideous hermaphroditical character, which has neither the force and firmness of a man, nor the gentleness and sensibility of a woman." Even Washington's wife got into it calling "one of the most detestable of mankind."
