    Metrodome roof collapses under snow; Giants-Vikings game in limbo

    The roof of the Metrodome in Minneapolis has partially collapsed under snow, further complicating the matter of just when and where the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants will play their football game.

    The Teflon roof had been leaking under the weight of about 15 inches of snow. Now, though, eyewitnesses are saying they can no longer see the top of the stadium and that it "looks like a big bowl of sugar," Tim Nelson of Minnesota Public Radio told ESPN. He reports that at least two panels of the roof, which is inflatable, are down.

    High winds and treacherous conditions kept crews from clearing the roof, so the NFL decided Saturday night to reschedule the game for Monday night.

    The Vikings and Giants had been scheduled to play at noon (CST) today. However, the blizzard in Minnesota forced the Giants' plane to divert to Kansas City, where they spent the night and had hoped to arrive in time for the noon game.

    If the teams can play Monday night in Minneapolis, the game would be telecast locally in Minnesota and New York and would be available to Sunday Ticket subscribers on DirecTV.
