Black Widow Spider

Just as a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, so a pet spider named “Bettina” would still be as deadly. When police busted into Mark Voegel’s apartment in Dortmund, Germany, what they discovered was described as “a cross between a botanical garden and the butterfly breeding ground in the serial killer movie The Silence Of The Lambs. Not only did they find Mark’s dead body, the result of venom injected by his black widow spider, but over 200 other spiders, snakes, lizards, and thousands of termites, all of whom were growing fat on the human buffet that was their keeper. He was covered in webs, spiders were crawling out of his nose and mouth, lizards were eating him and chunks of flesh were found in tarantula webs. When your roommates are hundreds of the deadliest species on the planet, don’t be surprised when they poison, paralyze, and eat you. What’s interesting is how the insects, snakes, and lizards were so preoccupied with Mark’s body, they were all able to exist in harmony, as they had no need to turn on each other.
