  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

That was odd.....anyway.... I counted 16 threads within a 24 hour period again and if you do a search of that member, I counted 19 the previous day.

i dont see any harm in it, but this is something that scribbles should handle if he see it necessary. So in short im not touching that.

    Question:

Has the search logic changed? Kieks wrote this up (http://forum.phun.org/showthread.php?t=459488) about thread titles and about putting dashes right next to search terms. However, I just tried it out for this post:

    http://forum.phun.org/showthread.php?t=893352

The title is: Tatum-Blonde Beauty Shows Off Her Goodies--ATK Galleria

So unless I am reading the Kieks post wrong, Tatum should be unsearchable unless I search for Tatum- (or maybe even 'Tatum-Blonde') or unless the poster puts Tatum free of the dash somewhere in the post. However, 'Tatum' is not in the body of the post, free of the dash, and it still comes up in the search. So are these titles ok now?

Not that I am going to do this, but I just PM'd the dude that posted that and sent him the link to Kieks post. Only after I sent the PM did I try it and to my amazement I found it in a search....

hm. there might be a change due to the upgrade. nevertheless - better to have a blank after names etc., though.

I agree, personally, I think it looks better. But there used to be a functional reason, not just aesthetic. I just feel bad telling someone to change their titles only to find out that my reasoning is flawed... maybe I should just leave the helping to the Mods...

We're now using the open source Sphinx-based search system rather than the vBulletin default, which perhaps explains the difference. It would be nice to have some user instructions with it! ;)
