  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

This si from the AIM site as an answer to an connection error:
There is a limit to how many times in a short period you can sign on from the same computer. If multiple people on your network are running into this problem, without signing on repeatedly from the same computer, please let us know by filing a bug report.

It is at the bottom of this page: http://www.aim.com/help_faq/error_mess/winerrors_connection.adp?aolp=

Maybe you can let them know and they can give you a fix

Oh and I forgot, have you tried logging on from another computer? If you can do that then just uninstall AIM, delete all the folders it puts in your program manager, restart, run a registry error fix program like WinCleaner (it will erase the registry entries since the program isn't there), restart again and then reinstall AIM.

If that doesn't work I'll just have to hang my head in shame and buy the Florida Kittens some extra Ramen

*EDIT* by program manager I meant your "C:\Program Files\AIM" folder
