Your request. I didnt see any photo preference so, I thought this was a great shot. The blackletter was a little harsh but, that can be easily changed if you wish. Let me know if you prefer a different photo also.

Do you guys do the text in photoshop? For some reason I have quite a lot of hassle with it and it ends up quite random.

I've always used PS for text. Not sure what you mean by random. I occasionaly have situations with font sizes requiring adjustment (resolution conflicts I think) but its a rather easy fix. I dont have any links on hand but there are sites where you can d/l additional fonts if you need more than what your version supplies. Some have a good selection of brushes also.

I can try messing around with it. Give me some specs on what you want the final results to be and I'll try it out. Please don't hold me to the same standard as the likes of Mastermind/Toolz/SilentB etc. I'm just a rookie.

maybe the only disadvantage of photos.cx. too short links. give your files names as unique as possible.

looks interesting, this thread. kudos everyone :)

It never really comes out quite how I envisage it. I think it's just because the version I have doesn't have too many font options.

Here ya go Bog. This font was "Bermuda Solid" or something like that. The reflection is very easy if you wish to learn. I'm using a relatively old version of PS, #7. Be more specific with what your trying to do and one of us might be able to help but, I'm far from knowing it all.

I had to change my sig. I loved the old image of natalie but the actual sig was pretty boring.

I have no background or experience, so I'd like to learn how the basics of photo edit/creation. I recently downloaded GIMP 2, but I have no idea what one tool or feature is available, or to apply it realistically. I also found a page lauding 'Paint.NET' as a useful application, but is it on par with PHOTOSHOP 7? (in CAPS for aid of Handbanana)

I'm unfamiliar with those programs so I cant judge them one way or another. Try a place like cnet that offers reviews on programs. Once you decide on one, what you learn depends on your needs. Thats how I learned, one step at a time, from retouching/manipulating photos to adding layers (photos placed on top of each other). Photoshop tutorials are easy to find on the net if you have specifics to sort out.
