    The thora bich and shannyn sigs are superb.

    Border, yes. I always think a sig looks better with one. Even if its a subtle one.

    yeah, i love borders. how do you do yours? because i haven't figured it out on photoshop. i free hand with a brush whilst holding down shift.
    i used to save it and then put a border on in paint, but i realised that was the reason for some of my sigs losing a lot of quality.
    i can put a border on quite quickly the way i do it now, but is there a quick simple way?

    Create a new layer on top (Ctrl + Shift + N)
    Press (Ctrl + A) to put a selection around it then go to Edit>Stoke

    Another way is to select "all" (you'll see the "marching ants" surround the sig), go to edit-->stroke, type in "1" pixel, and hit enter. (The foreground color is the color it will be. Black is usually the default foreground color.)

    I'm a shortcut idiot. I'll have to try this also. I usualy make mine with the Marquee tool, right click>create new layer>edit>stroke. If you mark the top layer (lets say text) and that layer has any layer effects added, the stroke will also carry those effect properties.

    well, borders in PS... how about increasing canvas - lets say 1-3 pixel and fill the increased part with a color of your choice?
