Try resaturising the first text, perspective warping it so it looks as if it's lying on the road, arch it round the bend of the road and set it to overlay. That should get the affect you were going for. You could maybe even emboss it downwards to make it look as if it's pressed into the road.

Nice idea though, I've always liked that pic.

Dunno if it's the same as CS3.
But right click the text thumbnail and resaturise type. Then go to edit>transform>perspective. Play around with it to get the desired effect. Then edit>transform>warp>arch to bend it around the road. Set the layer to overlay. In the same place as outer glow/drop shadow you should see bevel and emboss, play with that to see if it looks good.

I was able to free transform it, but the "perceptive" button wasn't available for some reason.

Also how do you get the darkened hazey look?

You have to rasterize the text layer first, then all of the transform controls will be available. To rasterize just right click on the text layer (in the layer menu) and click 'rasterize text'.

The darkened hazey look could be achieved by simply changing the layer style to "overlay". Again that is done in the layer side-menu, selecting the layer and using the "layer style" drop down menu at the top of the side-menu. Then selecting "overlay" or "soft light".

Hope that wasn't too confusing! ;)

Pretty much how I'd have explained it, the only way to make it easier is with pics  Only messing jack!! ;) :p

Also, try the text with different colours with overlay to get different effects, but I find black or white works best. If you don't think putting it into overlay shows up enough then just duplicate the layer and it will still be see through but twice as dark. (duplicate the same way as resaturising (right click on the thumb), but click duplicate layer instead).

:2cent:There's something just a bit off on the singer. It isnt anything drastic or obvious but for some reason he seems washed out. Maybe it's the difference in contrasts lh/mid/rh. The ends have a cleaner balance then the middle focus point is muddled. Not sure I'm saying it right, but when I look at it, it doesnt seem like all one piece. I'm having exactly the same problem with a stowe/van gogh sig. I got all the layers and backgrounds the way I want but add in the focus subject and it falls apart. No matter what I do to her it just wont fall together. Then I looked at this one and noticed the same odd effect. It's still a nice piece though.:2cent:

Yeah I agree, I'm not too pleased with it but I never feel like re-working a sig. I figure it's a finished product, and when they're at that stage there will be some that worked out better than others. Thanks for the note though, I always appreciate constructive comments!
