Yes they've been darkroom touching up since the days of Ansell Adams & long before that and yes now with photoshop, correct blemishes etc.

But it's way beyond that, change jawlines, lengthen legs, remove ribs, and change hiplines, so that the image you see bares very little relation to the original image.
