Thank you!!! I've worked as a Carer before so I'm used to long days and isolation, the difference is everywhere else is the same. So it's not a case of going to the Cinema/Theatre or a bar for distraction.

But again, I'm not alone in this & thank goodness for tech!!!

Technically, quote unquote, I work in the medical field. We won't shut down completely. Worst case scenario is that we go into an on call only situation. I've already had residents refuse to have housekeeping services. They have self-quarantined and prefer not to have additional folks in their personal space. If more fall in line , I'll have to figure out to either juggle the schedules or cut hours.

i may be permitted home for a week or so if things get hairy at my end. I need to be at work to do my duties. But since i work at a authority on national level we kind of need to be open as long as possible. I will get pay regardless if im home or at work in my contract.

It's really difficult when you're in that situation, but it's definitely a plus point getting paid either way.

Gutted that Euro 2020 has been postponed until next year.

It’s 7:30am and I’ve got no real reason to be up and awake as I no longer got a job to go to.

    But
Just got Bonnie Wright in some Comfort pics.

I'm paid up in rent until the beginning of May, my Uncle said he'd help out after then,
my flat mate is actually in isolation in Brighton, but she said she'd still pay her share
of the rent until at least Easter.

I may live the lifestyle of the rich & famous but like many people living in London,
we only have a few months away from Sofa surfing (not sure you could do that now),
but if I have to give up the flat, my Sister has said live with her and her boyfriend,
but that wouldn't be practical in the long term.

But my Aunt on the South Coast of England has offered, so I'd probably go to them,
but they'd need to get decent WiFi, it's non-existant.

The (British) Government brought on measures to help businesses including Cafes & Pubs,
but nothing for people who rent.

    Meanwhile

    I've been outside!!!

I actually went for a walk in a park near me, people were going with
the 6-foot guideline and things were nearly "Normal", then to a Supermarket.

So went to the Supermarket, it looked like Napoleon's retreat from Moscow.

    But
Sainsbury's is telling customers they can only buy three of any grocery item
and is also shutting its cafes and fresh food counters.

    https://news.sky.com/story/coronavi...rys-puts-limits-across-all-groceries-11959451

I have a good friend that's in a complete and utter sense of denial over Corona.
He thinks its hype & that it will be over in weeks or two, he now has stopped
watching the news, his partner gives him heavily edited highlights.

I'm not into organised religion, ( if you are I respect it, if you're not, it's ok with me).

I don't care about your creed or colour or sexual preference doesn't make a difference to me.

I like Pope Francis, not for what he represents, but as a person.

He wrote this over the last few days and I think it's beautiful.

So in a Humanist type way, I post this.

    “Tonight before falling asleep
think about when we will return to the street.

    When we hug again,
when all the shopping together will seem like a party.

Let's think about when the coffees will return to the bar, the small talk, the photos close to each other.

We think about when it will be all a memory but normality will seem an unexpected and beautiful gift.

We will love everything that has so far seemed futile to us.
    Every second will be precious.

Swims at the sea, the sun until late, sunsets, toasts, laughter.
We will go back to laughing together.

    Strength and courage".

Im more of a seeker myself i havent found any good answers to how everything is connected out there. Both religion and science have interesting ways of looking at it but it doesnt fully answer everything. I have a inquisitive personality so im not drawn to absolute truths. So in a sense im leaning towards the agnostic school of thinking.

I'd be at home in the Agnostic school of thinking,
but I'm not the sort of person to join clubs

I posted it because of its feeling (not who wrote it) and of what "Normal" is
and what so many of us are missing about it now.

    Meanwhile

My friend Mae Martin's new series "Feel Good" begins tonight at 10pm on ⁦
Channel4 in the UK & and all the episodes drop on ⁦Netflix & ALL4 on March 19th.

Even though I'm an atheist I was quite moved by Pope Francis' words, but I was a bit surprised he made no reference to the "absent friends" that won't be joining in the happy return to normality?

Seeing a lot of introverts liking this part of it lol. People basically saying "So I have to stay away from people and stay inside? You think that's a challenge for me?"

Well, if she is near to you:D

    #WFH

If you're working from home or you're under isolation or been let off work and are now at home.

    I'll pass on this.

I used to have a gf that was in the US Marine Corp, she survived Parris Island!!!

They were told this on the first day, first hour.

"You'll have hard days ahead, but your life will have structure, that structure will help you.

Start the day, you will shit, shower and shave.

You will then make your bed.

That is your structure, that will start your day every day and that will be your salvation"

I wrote that down years ago and kept it, I never thought I'd write it on here or share it.

But I hope it might help.

Btw I can nearly hear a Drill Sgt say it.

From experience it's very important to get dressed every day, (not pj's all day) still get up
at a regular-ish time, it can help to fight depression. This may last for a while, so be mentally prepared.

    Give your day structure.

My Sister had a observation last night, where is Emma Watson?
Her last tweet was a rt on March 11th about the Women in the Olympic games.
All her other tweets were on a similar theme, on feminism, (yes her Tweets are probably
    by "Her People").

I don't approve of "Celebs" jumping on the Corona bandwagon, but for the last
5 years she's spoken up on a regular basis on Women's causes, she's appeared on behalf of the UN
and appealed especially to young women.

Yet here we are in the midst of a worldwide crisis and not a word..

    -------------------------

We may be leaving London if things get worse, as a family we'll be going down to the
South coast, to stay with my Aunt by the Sea.

The problem is her WiFi is terrible down there, so i may vanish from here for a while.

We're trying to get a better system installed, but as you can probably imagine its not
easy to get things like that done at the moment.

They closed 40 Underground stations in London today, advised people not to use public transport
unless its really essential, Boris has denied talk of locking down London.

But then he gave guidelines a week ago, which he completed reversed by Monday.

So that's what happened if i vanish for a few days.

You have to do what seems best for you, Sophie, and I hope things work out. If you can't keep in touch, you'll be sorely missed, that's for sure!
I'm sending you good vibes. :)
