please allow me to offer some of my back yard

and if i had some idea how to rescue images off a Seagate barracuda drive that clinks when i start it, i have a few more. (any suggestions here would be worshiped)












This is not my back yard, its the New River Goarge Bridge in Beckley West Virginia.

Oh, and BTW - that clicking sound is one of the heads stuck to one of the platters. This sounds crazy but sometimes it works, i've done it many times on workstations up here. Take the drive out and slam in down on each side - not the top, it'll dent it but each side. A lot of time it will losen it up enough to spin up. You'll lose some data obviously where the head is stuck but a lot of the time it'll spin up enough to get most of your lost data.

 

I just want to get this so i make sure i understand.
hold the hard drive, (the thing with micro scopic tolerances that is built in a dust free environment by state of the art computers to such an exacting way that fifteen years ago the thing would not have been possible) in my right hand about 12" from a table top of sturdy make
and slam it down hard on its right side, then flip it around and slam it a second time down hard on its left side?

This is my kind of repair. consider it done, as soon as i get the time i will be smacking that bitch about till she gives up what she knows, and you my friend will go down in my will to receive the 23gb of porn locked in the vault it has become.
