the first is of my 4x4 trail ive punded out, sure it cost me a radiator, but it was fun, the second of my wymer-idiot, i used to train and work him daily, but he is older and we have both lost the edge, but every once in a while he will just take to hunting, like here. the other wymer-idiot is not in the shot becouse he found the raccoon shit to roll in, and so he was off doing that. he's afucking idiot

becouse i had 200 in my pocket and it was a closeout clearance take the display and dont bitch last one, at walmart. So i figured it was better than the single pixel unit from HP i was using, and picked it up. it aint bad but...

but fear not, in the next year i will purchase the SLR i want. and then you will see some dumb ass photos.

    oh yes.
i will have you all thinking,
"he posted that why, is that a cows anus, what the fuck is wrong with him"?

Firstly, thanks for the compliments. :)

Regarding the old factory - I generally make an effort to find out who the current owner of the property is and try contacting them to ask permission to shoot the place. I usually spin the story that I'm a "historical archivist" and professional photographer. Having the gift of the gab is an invaluable asset.

Failing that, I do a daytime trip to scout the exterior of the place (checking to see what people are generally in the area, locate a point-of-entry, see if there's any 'no trespassing' signs anywhere, etc.). If I'm confident I can gain easy access (without breaking and entering)...I'll return on a second trip to take photos of the interior.

I've been involved in UE (urban exploration) of old buildings for over a decade, and there's a ton of tips and tricks to learn along the way. Again, being a smooth talker in case you're caught is handy. I've talked my way out of many situations over the years - just being conversational and showing that I'm strictly there to take pics, nothing more. Plus my age (44) immediately gives the impression I'm not just some punk kid bent on vandalising a location. I carry a fair bit of camera and other gear (flashlights, tripod, etc.) with me...so I look the part of a serious/professional photographer.

If an owner catches you on the property, offer to give them copies of the photos you take. That's worked for me several times. Don't argue or cause a confrontation if they kick you off the property. Simply leave...and don't return. If you return, or refuse to leave when asked - they can have you charged with trespassing. In Canada its a simple misdemeanor ticket ($100), but preferrable to avoid.

But definitely try getting permission as your first approach. That way you can take photos at your leisure and not worry about intrusions by potentially angry property owners. I've actually had several owners give me guided tours of old places with historical facts and whatnot over the years.

There was no way I was gonna sit inside when it was 60F today. We only get a couple warm spells like this each winter. These are a few snaps from another local dam. The rocks are just a sample of some other shots I took with hopes of using them as backgrounds for other projects. The 3rd shot has an old fish ladder in the center, serving exactly as described, to assist migratory fish. I may have enough for a panoramic view I'll do another day.

Further downstream (few miles) from the first shots I posted in this thread. Took these about a week ago.

The panoramic I mentioned. I'll try not to attempt this again without a tripod but, me and my itchy shutter finger couldnt resist a try. It could have turned out worse. I'll be sure to replace my lost tripod before Spring arrives.

    some "winter impressions"

the snowdrops and daffodils are already sneaking - and the geese are heading east, so... spring is approaching.

    a few b/w-conversions
