Have you experimented with editing them in photoshop or similar program? It may help bring out what the camera didnt.

well i havn't no, only for the lack of not knowing how to use it (i have PS cs2) and i only have a cheap digital camera. here are a couple of pics, not the best examples but yeah

this shot, i remember it was late in the arvo and the light was kinda dark but i could still see into the water really well and the clouds looked mad and thats what made it look so good but it doesnt show that, it just shows poor light
    [IMG]

this was when my local lighthouse was pink for breat cancer week but the pic is blury..would of made a great shot i thought
    [IMG]

this is of another local harbour & steel works that just did'nt capture the light how i saw it
    [IMG]

one of lights reflecting of my car that is blury
    [IMG]

another of the car with lights in background that is blury and not how i saw it
    [IMG]

I think the night shots that are blury are due to the slow shutter speed used with that fuction on the camera? i was as steady as can be but it was still blury, i dont think these shots are worth trying to clean up with photoshop (if possible) as they just dont capture the moment to begin with ya know! like i see things and think man that looks unreal it would make an awesome photo but when i take it the camera just doesnt reproduce what i see

Apologies for the filesize, but shooting foliage tends to bloat the file.

Shot this last week on a trail not far from our house. We were lucky this year to have the right weather conditions for the leaves to change colour gradual and not fall too quickly.

    Nikon d80.

When taking pics in the dark i always use a tripod or putting my camera on a steady object. It`s very, very difficult to get it right otherwise.

That last one is beautiful SilentKnight! Thanks! I'm very dissapointed at our change over - had a very dry summer so most everything around here turned very quickly and it falling to the ground.

Our fall was mostly wet - lots of rain...which apparently helps the leaf colors to be more vivid with color.

The Niagara area is absolutely gorgeous in fall - a photographer's paradise.

SilentKnight, how do you like the D80? I'm about to purchase a digital SLR and that was one that I had looked at. I'm actually going with the Canon EOS XSi...it's a little more in my budget and three of my friends all shoot with Canon. There's a lot to be said for sharing of lenses!

It does. Leaves changing colors are the process of them dieing. Compare it to a 20 y/o with a 80 y/o getting the same disease on the same day. Typically because the 20 y/o is younger his body is stronger so it would take the disease longer to kill him/her. Same way with leaves, it you have a lot of water to keep the trees healthy the leaves will change colors, then brown, then fall. Not much water they turn to very little color, brown much quicker, fall much quicker.

Here's one of your photos with a few clicks with CS2. I added more contrast than light to bring out that "mad" sky and also reduced the size to give it more clarity. A slight sharpening and diffused glow was also added.

Magge was exactly right about having something to steady the cam in low light conditions. I've seen people use something as simple as a broom stick to assist in steadying a cam before a low light shot. You can buy a monopod but I never really saw the advantage over a tripod with the legs folded in.

LMFAO! I always feel like removing my clothes(well, unless it's freezing). I'll take some nature photos... and then if I have the opportunity to get kinky, I'll go for it and then post them in my thread or sumptin' :D

Nice, Hay! I've been once and completely enjoyed myself. Would love to go back.
