WOTW (Call it WOTW even though it's fortnightly)

RULES
- Entries must be original work.
- No rips.
- Entries should be PM'd to me by the deadline (GMT).
- No identifying marks or text in the work or filename.
- No animated entries.

VOTING
- You cannot vote for yourself.
- A vote won't count if it's a new member without any genuine posts.
- Comps will last two weeks. Monday till the second Wednesday at midnight. The voting will be from Thursday till Sunday Midnight. So this gives 10 days to finish your wall and four days for voting. Keeping the comp in two week intervals will make sure everyone can keep track of whats what.
- The winner picks the next theme. The winner also has the luxury of choosing his or her monitor size/resolution as the template for the competition if they wish.

So, the theme is basically a movie wallpaper?

If it's a poster, then dimensions should be 900x1600 but it wouldn't be a regular desktop wallpaper unless viewed on a vertical monitor.

 

Aye. Any poster you want to make. A mash up, sequel, prequel, new idea. spoof, completely imagined by yourself.

I'm in the UK and we use quad movie posters which are horizontal as ooposed to the vertical ones in the US. I suppose the ratio would be closer to 1200x900.

I dare say that for now we can be flexible and say that the poster has to be within 1600/1200x900.

 

I'd participate if my resolution (1680x1050) would be allowed.

 

1920 x 1200 and 1680 x 1050 are widescreens and i think the most used ones nowedays, quite weird sizes u've set i got to say jams just my :2cent:

Not everyone uses those resolutions though. Besides, will you even use any of the WOTWs as your own? If so, you can simply center it and try to match the background colour with the wallpaper's if possible.

Well we can change it but i really would have like it if you guys hadn't waited this long to speak up about it. Mine is nearly done.

The rules weren't set in stone and we were testing things.

i don't see resolution as an issue, a hundred pixels or so at this size isn't important, not like with a sig. why not just make them whatever size fits your own monitor? doesn't matter if not everyone's is the same.

 

I'm using 1024x768 as resolution... but that doesn't matter I can still make it any size. but I have to know before I start working on it.

 

or actually I need to know if we should use one resolution or if we could make it any that we choose...

Mine too. I decided not to waste it after my display of petulant behaviour.

 

don't think i'm gonna make the deadline for this one had some kind of trojan on my pc, had to reinstall everything still not done with that..

 

Thanks to razor for correcting me when i put the poll up a day early. I was 4AM and i was just up for work so i was a whole day out.
