Why does so many in here use Imagebam?

Imagebam is unstable, and today i can't se one single picture hosted on imagebam.
Just wonder why there is so many in this forum using Imagebam, when there is no other forum i am member of that people use this crappy Imagehost ?
If someone have a good explanation to me it's mutch epreciated

I'm net to this forum, but i'm thinking of leaving again because i'm not able to se half of the pictures in fullsize

 

why do so many join here just to complain?

Just to complain? How can you judge me for that? I was joining this forum because i LOVE celeb pictures. And now i was wonder why so many use Imagebam? I have used Imagevenue for years now and my first posted pictures (years ago) are all still fully functional. So i was just wondering, because there is probably an reason why so many use it but i can't se the reason......

 

Ever think the reason so many people use it is because they think its a good host?

Anyway, venue used to be the most used until its ads policy changed, now i'd say haven is used as much as if nit more than bam.

If the images work and the host works then its all good in the hood.

 

Thanks I have seen lots of posts with imagehaven and that looks great. I totally agree it's enoying with the popups and ad shit on imagevenue but i love that they keep files for a long time..
Hope that imegehaven keeps the images for a long time, because it is enojing when a host only keeps them for a short while.
I'm open and greatfull for all new good hosts, it's just that i for a pritty long time have had lots of problems with Bam......

The problem sounds as if its one with your system. I can't figure out what these imagebam problems are. I click on a link and the image opens. I save and close, simplicty itself. Same with Haven.

 

Imagebam uses PHP scripting which is basically different to most image hosts.
Persnally, I do not agree with most users here using rapidshare because it goes against my principles. Anyway I do not keep prono movies on my pc for long anyways they smell badly after few days LOL!

 

see - don´t take my comment too personally.
it´s just a matter of fact (or a "common observation") that the ammount of new members who instantly start to express what they don´t like after joining has increased over the last couple of months (and after they "vented" they were never seen again...).

i´m pretty sure you´ll find at least some topics of your interest.

and have in mind - if all people active on all forums, blogs etc. would use your favorite imagehost it would be dead pretty soon.

i like imagebam (and bear with it´s maintenance-downtimes) because you have the chance to save your images in galleries, the upload for me is pretty convenient and fast enough - and i don´t need to crawl through popups, redirects and other distracting ways of advertising.

 

I can see pictures from Bam now, so i guess they had a hickup on theyr system.

If you were a user then it would be a different kettle of fish. I can assure you that.
they do not know how hard is to extract pics out of PHP files especially at good resolutions.

 

In a perfect world we had our own image-hoster, but until then you have to use what's around

 

For me, Bam loads the pictures faster when I'm browsing other posts. I only use it because I figured it would work the same for everyone else.

saving pics individually works but if I try to harvest some images then the pics are embedded into php extension files
Sorry you don't allow for attachments so I cannot show you exactly what I mean.

 

The reason why we have such rules to limit what is allowed is because when we had a list of banned imagehost only it had to be updated so often because of new imagehost companies popping up online with malicious intent it was impossible for all our "posters" to constantly keep up with. Having a short list of allowed imagehosts only ensures that people wouldn't use an imagehost that can be harmful to our members.

So think of it as a way for us to "protect" out viewers, not the posters.

 

I cant understand why so many people say imagevenue is a pain and it displays ads and timers etc.I NEVER get any problems

Well if I can explain better Imagebam's PHP images appear in your pc but they are sever side remote host not stored in your pc as in html as in imagevenue case. So these are viewed but not saved in you HDD unless ripped or downloaded one by one and compiled in CHM they look OK.
