  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    Ok, I tried to upload a new avatar since I thought it got deleted, but it looks like they have been disabled.

    Can an op either tell us what is going on or see what is up?

    have you enabled "show avatars" ?!

    Yes, everything is enabled in Thread Display Options except Show Signatures. I never had this problem until I re-formatted my machine. Still using the same programs as before. Maybe it is a FF setting that I am not aware of.

    Got it. For some reason the network.http.sendRefererHeader in about:config was set to 0. I set it back to the default value of 2. I am not sure why this would affect only avatars on this site though?

    simply speaking:

    a) network.http.sendRefererHeader=0
    the web is listening, knows where your avatar is located but the web doesn´t know anything about you. nothing.

    b) network.http.sendRefererHeader=1
    now you at least provided the location. link.

    c) network.http.sendRefererHeader=2
    graphic.

    imagehosts use this feature to block their images being displayed on phun (traffic/bandwidth-killing etc.). they monitor the referers and as soon as there´s phun in the referer they present a yellow-frog (imageshack.us) or a "red x"-pic instead of displaying the requested image.

    I used Mozilla and I see only a link, no pictures. "Show Avatars" is enabled.
