What harm is there in allowing mirror links on depositfile ?

I do not understand why depositfile links cant be even used as mirror links. Why don't we let the visitors decide what file host they want to download the video from ? Why is Phun only pushing rapidshare and forcing everyone to use it when clearly ppl dont like it.

6 of 10 RS links are dead cuz of the over competition among RS users. RS uploaders if cared about reliability would post more mirror links on other hosts and how many of you do that ? The main reason is the RS points and i dont need it otherwise i would have sang the same " RS hallelujah song " with you.

 

depositfiles link download do not even work for me, so no. :|


And it is the poster's own decision to use a filehost, and most of them lean towards the reliable rapidshare. I also see a few megaupload ones there, too.

Plain and simple, it's th service they provide and the reception they receive.
DepositFile or any other unknown cannot provide that.

 

We are going away from the topic .... " RS is the bomb" and i really don't care about it. Most of the videos i am posting here on Phun have 2-3 links meaning two or three file hosts to download same video. They are

gigasize.com
depositfile.com
megarotic.com (new) streaming

What are the chance that one cannot use all these three hosts and all of them are dead. Now compare that with one RS link.

Bottom line - Mirror links from all hosts should be allowed if an uploader is taking time to upload onto more than one host, its for visitors sake and should be respected for that.

 

The one point you just don't seem to get is that depositfiles is banned here. Put the files on as many different hosts that you want as long as they are not on the banned list. You don't have to use rapidshare either.

 

I am not saying that "any one host is the best", but I am not quite sure about the "multiple links allowed" that you are referring to; do you mean that the mods have disallowed mirror links(though I wouldn't see why or if this is an issue at all), or are you condoning/demanding that all other members that share should also have mirrored links?

Either way, both wouldd be hard to change because
(a) the owner/mods have reasonable justifications for this

(b) some posters cannot be bothered to host on different servers because either 1). they get it elsewhere(e.g.)just copy the DL links or 2). feel as though one upload link is enough for their efforts sharing(e.g. took the time to bring you pleasure at all, so tough if you do not like it, may be perceived as "laziness" by those unaware)



See, now re-reading the thread title, you may be under the impression that there is a ban on mirror links...

 

His issue is that DepositFiles is not allowed here.

added : I know depositfile is banned here but i dont get the point of not allowing us to to use it as a mirror link there is a huge difference. Let the users have the choice of the host they want to download from.

nobody is pushing rapidshare exclusively. go find a reliable host and use it (just check some certain threads in the model-forum and see yourself what´s not supposed to be reliable) - and take care of your threads when there will be complaints about dead links. have in mind: a halfway interesting vid-thread gets 1000 views / 100 downloads a day (as always: annonymous, so no thanks for your upload, no comment by the downloader)

there once was an agreement amongst the mods that only Cayne (he pays the bills for server, vbulletin-licence and such - and he´s the one in charge to deal with webmasters and their lawyers) and the models (okay, some are not yet purple) posting their samples here are "allowed" to advertise and trying to get some revenue for their work.

the basic idea of phun-forum is (has been?) to share stuff, not to earn money or generating traffic on random websites.

lol but i don't think this motto is being followed here ( this rule is applied to only a minor group of ppl) but if thats what all the mods want to spread among the general public thats ok with me. But don't count me in. I sound like Micheal Moore .
