Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

How long does it usually take to upload a file around 30 MB? I have a high-speed connection, and it's been taking a while now.

I tried a small file to test the site, and that worked correctly. I'm just looking for a number of minutes to expect. As I'm looking to contribute.

    Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure as I am in bed when I upload. However, do you surf whilst uploading? If you do, it'll take longer, try be away from the PC when uploading a file.

It finished, I got the topic up now. The windows completition bar at the bottom of the browser was full, so that's the only reason I questioned it.

I probably need a DL Meter though.

On YSI, in UPLOAD, I never go over ~ 450 Kb/s per connection (it is server side limited), so ususally I split files in more parts and upload all of them at the same time. Doing so the only limit is the number of connections per ip allowed by the server (I usually use 4 connections, going at about 1.7 Mb/s, but it could be higher).

To see the used bandwith on WinXP/Win2000 systems you can look at the "Networking" tab in Task Manager or at the Performance Monitor (under Control Panel > Administrative Tools).

    bye.

Broadband connections have limited upload capacities typically around 10% of the download capacity so it might be this that's causing you problems.
