Hi Phunners. Right now i'm online via my old toshiba notebook using Windows XP. Everything is fine.
When I try to log in via my new acer netbook using windows 8 it won't work.

    I can log in.
I get the "welcome back" message.
I get back to the forum and I'm not logged in anymore. It happens when I wait for the welcome page to disappear, but also if I click on the "click here if the server blabla" link.

Has anyone of you any idea or solution for me? thank you guys. and girls.

    Same problem :(
Already tried that, won't do it :(
I don't believe that, as I said the netbook is totally new, nothing special installed and a 3-month full version of kaspersky at work without any warnings :( And no, no popups or something.
Thank you all for your ideas!!

I read somewhere that there's something that needs updating.. and something about opening it in IE9 compatibility mode instead... not entirely sure that it had anything to do with this though..

but you have tried other browsers than internet explorer, right?

sounds like it's caching the old page and not parsing the new permissions when it reloads.

@Cold, sounds like the groupwise 6 mailbox refresh, doesnt it?

LULZ! I just answered every Statement made and right after that the IE deleted all writings. I'M about to KILL THIS LAPTOP!!!

to make it short now: Cy, what you said sounds good to me. In a way. But what can I do about it?

I just tried to register with a new account, using Firefox. After sending my details, a database error occurs. I AM SO PISSED RIGHT NOW!

could be interesting to find out / know if this issue is the only one or if there are others similra to this one (got other sites you log in? does it work there?)

anyways... could there be a different cookie-handling on each affected browser? might check the respective settings and compare / adjust.
(fyi: i for one allow cookies but automatically delete them when closing FF).

ps.: had exactly this problem here with win7/FF - sorted out by "itself" after a couple of days. phun is hosted on more than one server - it`s supposed to main and backup. sometimes i feel that the sync of those is out of sync

oh, and... as the dbase-error shows: there`s always a little chance that this is somehow phun-related...*sigh*

have you tried turning off firefox's cache?
    what firefox are you using?
are you using private browsing in ff? try turning that off as a test.
can you do a list outof the plugins/extensions you use in ff?

cant say Im at all up to date on win 8 since I have no intention of ever using or supporting it.

same here, all Cookies deleted after closing the Fox. And for now this is the only site/forum causing problems.

My version of firefox is 16.0.2 but there's an upgrade to install right now and I'll give it a try. But the plugin idea is another good one. I've got McAfee SiteAdvisor and McAfee SecurityCenter preinstalled on the new Laptop and I have no experiences with McAfee products. Could be a hint.

get rid of both - uninstall. windows (plus eventually avast.de) is fair enough.

(same goes for all that preinstalled Norton-crap, google-toolbars etc)
