Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

So - these forums suddenly don't work in Firefox?

I'm not quite sure why this is, and as I'm not entirely clued up on matters of this nature, would appreciate some help on sorting it.

    EDIT: More specifically, I get;

    "400 Bad Request
    nginx/0.6.31"

we get gateway errors and server issues lately that is why you are having such a problem. If you are in certain geographical locations ie russia and china, we are blocking massive amounts of traffic from such countries due to the hacking and dos attacks coming from those regions.

I'm in England for what it's worth. Seems strange that the site works in IE and Safari though. Sadly I dislike those browsers. Thanks for the reply though.

browser wise i would not know. but all i can tell you is there are alot of attacks on our forums lately that causes the servers to crash. I don't know if there are any relations between those attacks and your issues. We are currently implementing programs that are automatically deleting problematic ip's that are attacking our servers. I hope this issue will be resolved within a few days as the database gets built up.

I'm wondering if Japan got banned as well.. I haven't been able to access the forums for the past few days, and it just occurred to me today to try via proxy. But I need my daily fix to phun.. :( I hope whatever is going on gets fixed soon.

    Cheers to the good guys.

I was getting the same "400 Bad Request" here in the US the past 2 days or so, using Firefox 3.0.6. I thought the forums were down, so I kept checking the main page. For a completely unrelated issue, I had to restart my computer; after said restart, that 400 error went away. I'm guessing that Firefox was just not closing out properly.

frontpage (http://phun.org/) and forum (http://forum.phun.org) are hosted on different servers, so access to the one doesn´t mean access to the other site.

ever checked your firewalls, routers, browser-settings - or maybe acces to the forum might be impossible due to some restrictions of your ISP?

guys, it's not a browser related problem at all. if it had appeared to be, that would have been co-incidental.

the most likely problem was as explained by wtfazzhole in another thread in this subforum: "... it depends on your ip range, almost all of our DOS attacks come from asia and russia, so when we get a DOS attack the server software is designed to automatically block those ip ranges."

sadly, i'm neither a russian nor a chinese DOS attacker. just an ol' aussie bloke going through one hell of a phun-cold-turkey. and it ain't no phun!

    cheers

    With "FireFox 400 Bad Request"

If you frequently work in Firefox you probably need to clear your cookies. Please try this and see if the issue is resolved.

    Work fine for me!
