  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

This should not be the normal complaining about some deleted files on RS. I've uploaded a lot and i know files get deleted now and then for a lot of different reasons.
But five days ago i saw that half of my main thread got killed (means RS-links have been reported). All content from
    - BangBros
    - AmateurAllure
    - BacksOnBlondes / Gloryhole
    - NewSensation / Jizzbomb
    - KarupsPC
    - My18Teens (and sistersites)
    - Hustler
was deleted, everything else was untouched. I'm pretty sure that the reporting came from phun, cause most of the files i only posted here.

I heard that there are some agencies that crawl the web paid from some major pornsites. I guess one of these agencies came along my thread, cause the thumbnails (on imagebam) were reported too. Unfortunately i always provide the modelname and the site where it came from, so they easily could find out "their" stuff to delete.
I remember well the end of 2007 where whole threads with 50 or more pages were completely killed, but i guess now we have to face some other "menace".
As these new guys get paid for reporting links they only will report the stuff they get money for. That are good news cause you don't loose your whole thread. On the other hand i have to think about if i should provide all the info i have about the vids i upload. Bad news for phun-user who are searching something special. Maybe i just will post the name of the model.
I've been told those professional reporter may use some macro-search with a database behind. Therefor they knew that "Janet Peron - Ass Cracking" belongs to "ButtDivers / New Sensation" and deleted it.
I'm also thinking about editing the big previews so that the sitename won't appear there anymore, but i guess it would be fair to the user that the name/sitename in the thumbnails remain. Don't know if these "reporters" are looking into every thumbnail, let's see ...

Just to let you know ..
Anyone else had some major loss of files around the 25th of August?

    Hey LouisZ,

Yeah I had problems in the recent weeks... the biggest one when I started a pretty big Asian thread based off the Asian Fever series. Within only a day of posting, my first postings in this thread were kapoot. Thankfully, I have a pretty quick re-up system, but obviously having "HUSTLER" in the title and body text was a pretty easy find for reporters.

A year ago or so, I started password protecting my uploads and renaming my zip/rar files. It doesn't necessarily prevent reporting of my links, but it makes it somewhat more difficult for my uploaded files to be "regurgitated" by cashhosters and linkstealers; it's these "cash-hos" that have been using a practice of remotely uploading posts, reporting these posts so they're taken down, THEN they repost the same files.

Anyways, while RS is still probably the best filehost service, Megaupload is darn reliable as well and files seem to last longer on MU than RS - I've had a few files on MU that have lasted over 2 years!

    Hi Louisz,

i lost more than 200 GB at all in the last 3 days. Mostly Bangbros, Eromaxx, Pornpross Stuff.

Well i am lucky that i had a lot of mirrors so that 90 % are online again. But it took me 20 hours, to crypt all uploads and make some reuploades or change the hash of the files.

But i didn't post any new stuff because i don't know if it is allowed to post encrypted links. (linksafe.in) Is it allowed in this forum ?

Because i don't will post any updates without some kind of security for the files. I know the advertising sucks but otherwise it's to easy for the abuser.

These cash-hosters are a pest, at least here hosters like hotfile, netload and storage are forbidden. I don't believe that they are reporting "your" stuff before uploading it again as "their" posts, most stuff isn't that unique.
And i also hoped that passwords would prevent that those guys easily remote copy my uploads, but it seems they just don't care ;)

@BlazZ: i'm pretty sure that linksave is not allowed here. There's a german forum with a lot of amateur stuff that is reported very fast. Most of the posters there use any kind of containers, crypted links with two passwords and so on, but: most of the stuff is down, so i guess that does not help very much, it's only a lot of work for you and for the downloaders.

Since a RS-premium acount can store up to 500Gb, the best solutions seems for me to make backup copies of my uploaded stuff that are stored in my RS-account: Once the file uploaded, you re-upload it via netload remote, so you have two identical files, one is posted and the other is waiting. If the first copy is reported, delete it and just change the links to the second copy. In the meantime you have enough time to make new uploads with different hash values (ok 200Gb may take some time). Or you store a third copy in a collectors account.

You have to know that Rapidshare will delete inactive links from 20th October 2009 for premium accounts which store more than 25 Gb.
I uploaded lots of files without time to make corresponding posts, now I have to hurry up to post everything, and follow the rules (no site rip, no linklist). Saving your files for a later use does not seem to be the best solution, except if you feel that your links will be rapidly deleted.

    About reup :
    - change the Rapidshare file size (adding the screen shots, for instance) otherwise it will be rejected AT THE END OF YOUR UPLOAD
    - same for screenshots if you're using ImageBam (they add : your IP address has been logged), by using another software for saving your file, and renaming the file

I am ready to reup my dead links how many times they will be deleted, if the post is ready you have only to change your screenshots links and Rapidshare links.

If you find a forum that doesn't report links, please let me know (I'm almost sure my request is out of the rules :( )

You might have seen this thread
    http://forum.phun.org/showthread.php?t=416343
so you don't have to post all your stuff before the 20th october.

My experience is: the more downloads, the higher the risk that the files get deleted.
