Questions from a newbie...

I have a few questions that I was hoping that I could get some help with.

1. Model names, "Aka's" - What is the easiest way to find all of this information? Anyone care to build a list on this forum? Sure would make it easier for us newbies to search things out.

2. Do I have the correct understaning that we can not create more that one thread for a models particular series? We can NOT have a part 1 and a part 2, etc.?

3. What if a thread exists of a model series that I wanted to post but all of the images could no longer be viewed for some reason and only the little red x box was showing, Can I repost?

1) we do not have a directory but most popular models only go by one name.

2) no multi parts allowed. you can post up to 20 images of a particular set.

3) repost is fine, just state that the original thread had dead images.

2. yes.
3. either post them and add a link to the "original" plus a "posted by..., but pics are dead" or post them and send the link of the original to one of the mods.
both methods do have their advantages - first one shows a little respect to the "original poster", second one helps to eliminate the dead original from the searchable-pool.

It changes with your post count. When it increases the name changes, by default. When you hit 1,500 posts you can change it yourself (by clicking User CP on the top left and editing your profile).

 

Check out this thread for a list of when the user titles change and the user name color changes.

 

OK, I have another question. It is about using the table commands. Are they allowed to be used in the Phun forums and does anyone no how to use them?

I thought the tables might be nice to use for some layouts when posting.

Scroll down to about the half way point and you will see what I am talking about.

using them is just as easy if not easier than microsoft word. what do you want to know about them?

 

there is a default set of tag-commands enabled on vbulletin. i think everyone is quite familiar with these:



additional there is the option to embed a youtube-vid by using

PHP:

[youtubevid]...[/youtubevid]

there are some tag-commands which bear a risk ([flash], for example)

i admit a few more tag-commands would be nice. wouldn´t mind to have the chance to wrap text around a pic by using the table-command, for example
might have a look.

 

River, that is kind of what I had in mind. I thought that I could place the thumbnails within a cell in a table, and then add text to the cell just below it - adding humor or thoughts. And the next roow more thumbs and the next row more comments, etc.

By the way Azz, I used MS Word a lot and can create a table very easily. I just tell it how many rows and columns I want and Bingo! But I sure do not see that ease here but I could be missing something...

 

Does anyone here use "Qzoka" for some of their images?

I am receiving this error when trying to load a file:

Warning

The file Nataly Stats2.jpg failed to upload because of an unknown problem.

I get this on any image that I try to load. Could I have done something to offend the Qzoka "Mods" (by the way, was that name created to rhyme with Gods for a reason? )or something? I sure do not want them shutting me down and suddenly that images show up as little red X's in my threads.

Is there a better choice in sites to use?

 

Had it a couple of times myself recently. Could be a forshadow of impending DOOM!

 

Ouch! That does not sound good. A lot of work to go back and update...

 

And we'll have people asking for new sigs because they didnt back theirs up.
