  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    Just read cayne's thread about the recent change in posts etc........What im wondering is why all the forums out there are caving in to webmasters of sites? Is is really illegal to link to copyright material? I mean u guys dont host any of it u just have links to it. How is a forum to blame for that they dont host anything.

    coz its like it u friend kills someone and you are with him when he kills that person ur just as guilty as he is and will go to prison like he will! if somethings copy right the site that hosts it and the site that has it is just as bad as each other

    First of all wrong forum.

    To answer your question it is a matter of interpretation on the part of the government agency that runs the DMCA. Until somebody challenges their interpretation of the laws and have the US supreme court make a decisive ruling on it they can intrepret it as they please. Cayne i am sure is not interested in fighting a US law from his home country based in Germany. ;)

    As far as I know ,copyright is dealt with by the Berne Treaty to which most countries are signatories.
