  2. Our gif only content threads have a rule where all thumbs must be posted as a static thumbnail that does not play. Currently imagebam made a change where they no longer produce static thumbs. Therefore, please do not use imagebam, or any host, that provides live playing gifs in those specific threads. If you see your gif playing once you post, try to use a smaller thumbnail and if that does not work use a different approved host.

    Okay, here's the deal:

I downloaded a bunch of videos from a site and they are in wmv format.
When I go to play them, windows media player has to aquire a license everytime I try to play the video.
They are also sectioned off into multiple files (8 or so).
So, since it has to aquire a license before playing, this makes it impossible to share.

I need to get around the licening issue and I want to join the clips into one file. I downloaded ASF tools to join the files, but it won't work until I get around the license.

    Any suggestions?

The only thing you can do, IF you have the pass, is find a way to capture the output stream while youre playing it with WMP. Obviously, as the capture happen on the fly, theres quality loss involve. You can google it with something like "capture drm wmv".

I use WMRecorder for recording streams, it is good. Something that you prolly already have is Windows Movie Maker, I use it when I have funky stuff to convert, or short vids to put together. It is slow and stupid program but may work. When uou import each one you put it in the storyline, then import the next, when you save it it might work, or you might could edit out the first few seconds of each one where this license request is.

    just a suggestion.
